A bit of a challenge! #winterskills #wintermountaineering #skitouring

22nd January 2020

The mixed bag of weather has continued through January so far, with cold spells followed by warmer weather. For the most part we've managed to make the most of conditions and have had winter skills, ski touring and guided climbing teams out.

This week in particular has been a challenge. Fortunately it turns cold again at the weekend, so fingers crossed it stays cold for longer this time.

In many ways this is the nature of Scottish winter; unpredictable and unsettled. It makes the good days even better when you appreciate how hard won they are!

We have limited availability on February courses now, but there are some places on some of the winter skills and ski touring courses. Please get in touch if you would like some training.

Winter courses

Back again after first 2 day bespoke winter skills course last year, to build on that time. Once again just excellent, friendly, flexible day. Jon our instructor was top-notch and completely got what we wanted to get out of this day, pushing us too but not too far! That takes a lot of experience and skill and we're so grateful The second day we were on our own which was great too- some errors but we learnt alot. We're looking to return next year to do a 5 day winter mountaineering/climbing course! Seriously can't wait for next year!!!
