Summer in the Cairngorms #rockclimbing #mountainbiking #mountaineering #wildswimming

A sure sign of how good a summer's been is how often you're swimming in rivers. This summer so far we've been in and out of rivers constantly and it's been excellent.

In amongst cooling off we've had climbing and mountaineering teams out as well as getting lots of personal mountain biking done.

As with most summers, a lot of time is spent on film sets looking after crews who are working in dangerous locations for Mountain and Water Safety Specialists

A must do if visiting Aviemore My wife and i wanted to hike up' 'Ben Macdui' Scotlands second highest mountain. We contacted 'Cairngorm adventure guides' who were brilliant, easy to deal with, professional and promt. Our guide Emma didn't just get us to the summit but gave us lot's of local information on the area, and on hiking in the mountains in general. The walk is a couple of hours (we're 58 & 60 years old) with a few stops to take in the the stunning scenery and take photo's. As well as being constantly informative, Emma was also professional and considerate, offering us options for various descents, given the weather conditions and time. The weather changed, as would be expected, in the Scottish highlands, constantly, this only enhanced the overall experience and satisfaction of completing the hike. All in all, if you're looking for a memorable experience in the Scottish highlands, DO THIS!
