F.A.Q's

Will I be safe?

Mountaineering and outdoor activities require an acceptance of risk, as the mountains are a dynamic environment where serious risks and dangers do exist. Our guides are experienced and qualified and your safety is paramount. The course progresses with your skills and we use locations on the mountains that suit you. In this way we manage risks to make the course as safe as possible.

You have the right to veto on any course if you don’t feel comfortable with the level of risk, however we would always insist you follow all safety instruction given by your CAG instructor. All of our instructors and guides are friendly and approachable and we would encourage participants to discuss any anxieties they may have about the course with their guide.

Where and when do we meet?

We run the majority of our courses from Aviemore in the Cairngorm National Park and, often during winter, we use the Aviemore Youth Hostel as our base.

Courses typically meet at 0845hrs and finish 1630hrs

Do I need a car for the course?

No. Aviemore is a small town that is easy to get about on foot. During your course transport is provided. Aviemore has a train station, regular buses and is 45mins from Inverness Airport.
