Winter draws to a close #winterskills #skitouring #scottishskitouring

It was always going to return, wasn't it! Looking over the photos from the last few weeks it has been a good month. We've had plenty of winter skills, ski touring and climbing teams out making the most of the late season conditions. Being flexible has been key, as well as keeping an open and honest dialogue with people who are coming on our courses. It's been great to hear people have still  enjoyed themselves and learned lots on our cousres.

There's no doubt that the warm spell in February has limited options and has made the snow pack more vunerable. Nonetheless, it's good to have made the most of it and still to have something to go at for another week or so.

Another observation of the photos this season is orange and red were the jacket colours of choice!

Winter courses

I completed the 2-day winter skills course with John followed by a 2-day winter climbing course with Dave. Can't recommend these two courses enough. Both John and Dave delivered two brilliant courses especially given the lack of snow! The winter skills course was informative and provided great foundational information on hiking safely in winter conditions. This led perfectly into the winter climbing course where Dave was extremely flexible given the conditions and my minimal climbing experience. We covered loads over the two days including leading, abseiling and belaying, to name a few. A great few days in Aviemore. Thank you Dave and John!
