Winter is coming... #rockclimbing #ridgescrambling #mountaineering #seakayaking

5th October 2020

Things have turned cooler, the nights are drawing in and there even been some snow on the tops.

Over the last month or so we've had plenty of teams out rock climbing and mountaineering, and we've also managed some personal sea kayaking. The weather's been mixed so being creative and flexible has been key to having successful days out.

It's always exciting thinking ahead to winter and hoping for great conditions. This year will be a little different with new covid protocols, but we're looking forward to getting out ourselves as well delivering lots of winter skills, winter mountaineering and ski touring courses.

Winter isn't quite here yet though and there's plenty of time to enjoy autumn and all its fantastic colours.

Our cousres are beginning to fill up already, so please get in touch if you'd like to join us.

Winter courses

I had a great time at Aviemore for my 2 days introduction to winter skills course. The guides were extremely knowledgeable and always made time to answer everyone's question. Thorough checks on the correct kit and being prepared for a day in the mountains made me aware of a couple flaws in my own preparation. I have now corrected these and feel more confidant of the hills as a result. Very worth while doing so don't hesitate to sign up and learn how to be safe.
