Great start to January

9th January 2022

During the Christmas and New Year mini heat wave, we had feared for the worst, but conditions quickly turned cold in early January and we have been able to deliver all of our courses so far. Since the start of the year we've had a good mix of winter skills, winter mountaineering, winter climbing and ski touring going on, with over 50 clients out. Even when the weather isn't playing ball there are always venue options that allow good quality training to still take place. Next week looks a touch warmer but then things cool down again at the weekend - let's hope that's it for the season! Liam

Winter 2023

Winter courses

Fun, varied and useful Our guide Johnny took us out on a cold and wintry but not very snowy day for winter skills training. We found patches of snow to practice self-belay and ice axe arrest, and learnt winter navigation skills, with flora and fauna pointed out along the way. The day was very much tailored to our group's needs and abilities so everyone was challenged but not pushed too far. Really fun, educational and useful for future winter walks.
