Improving conditions #winterclimbing #wintermountaineering #winterskills

17th January 2019

The last couple of weeks have been pretty dire on the mountains and at times not as wintry as we'd like (despite the photos!).

We've cancelled a few courses but have still a few winter skills and mountaineering trips. As always, our team have managed to eek out the best of conditions to ensure they deliver the best possible experience.

Things have turned wintry again and the forecast is promising. There's still a bit to go before the skiing and climbing will be fully in, but let's hope this is the start of it!

Winter courses

Just finished a fantastic intro to ski touring 2 day course with our very knowledgeable instructor Malcolm. There were 6 of us on the course (not inc Malcolm) and all completely new to ski touring and varying levels of ski experience. Malcolm adapted the course when required to suit all and took our course at a speed that was comfortable for everyone. The result being that we all had a fantastic time. The weather took a drastic turn for the worse with the heavy snow on the 2nd day and safety was put first cutting our time on the slope short. However we were probably all quite glad as we were definitely feeling the physical demands ski touring puts on your body by then lol. All in all, a well organised and thoroughly enjoyable course. We'd definitely recommend and would look at trying out the other courses on offer in the future. Thanks to the team, Barry, Ellie, Ant, Peter, our excellent guide Malcolm and event organiser Liam for a brilliant 2 days. Scott and I are properly knackered but loved sharing this experience with you all.Just finished a fantastic intro to ski touring 2 day course with our very knowledgeable instructor Malcolm.
