And so it begins, winter 2019. #skitouring #cairngormsnationalpark #aviemore

26th November 2018

Temperatures have dropped and snow has been falling for the last week or so on the mountains. With social media getting everyone excited about the forthcoming winter season, we nipped out for our first ski tour of the season. While lots of fun, conditions were ok higher up but very limited lower down....

We've had a very busy year working on film sets looking after crew and cast in mountainous and watery film locations (www.mountainandwatersafety.co.uk). Last week we were doing some water rescue CPD. Always very worthwhile, even if it was a touch chilly at this time of year!

Our winter courses are beginning to fill up and we're looking forward to the next few months. Pleaes get in touch if you'd like some winter training or guiding.

Winter courses

I completed a 4 day winter skills course with Cairngorm Adventure Guides in February. Ross was a great guide and leader and really knowledgeable. Learned so much but was particularly happy that after the 4 days, after years of just not 'getting it' navigating using a compass finally made sense to me. Would absolutely recommend to anyone interested in winter walking.
