Turning colder

8th February 2022

After a very warm January it's good to see more snow on the hills are for the forecast to be colder.

January was a tough for delivering courses and we were foreced to cancel a number of skiing courses, due to a lack of snow. The limited snow we did have was actually surprisingly good, it's just that we could have done with more! Nonetheless, our really experienced and skilled team managed to deliver lots of excellent training and we've had lots of positive feedback.

Hopefully the weather will play ball for the remainder of winter...... I suspect not though!

Winter courses

Fun, varied and useful Our guide Johnny took us out on a cold and wintry but not very snowy day for winter skills training. We found patches of snow to practice self-belay and ice axe arrest, and learnt winter navigation skills, with flora and fauna pointed out along the way. The day was very much tailored to our group's needs and abilities so everyone was challenged but not pushed too far. Really fun, educational and useful for future winter walks.
